Akara & Dainen
Raine is the kind of rain you pray for on your wedding day! This is something my husband and I found ourselves repeating time and time again leading up to our big day.
Before Raine, our elopement plans were vague and open to minimal capture. But within minutes of talking to Raine, we suddenly realized what was a loose idea to get spontaneously married suddenly felt structured, real, grounded, and something worth investing in to remember for a lifetime!
Raine entirely brought our wedding day to life by capturing all the gorgeous moments with his detail and precision in his artistry. Through his skill and professionalism, he amplified our day in a way we will remember forever. Our photos are perfect and the memories associated with taking them are purely joyous and fun. Raine is truly a pleasure to work with and you can’t beat his ability to capture the love, scenery, and beyond. Your day will be made with Raine! He ironically is the guiding light & sunshine!

WHAT IF WE ONLY NEED AN HOUR OR TWO OF COVERAGE?
Your elopement day is far more than just a photo session – it's a whole experience, one that you'll only get to do once. In the vast expanse of Yosemite National Park, there are countless breathtaking locations to explore and cherish. As we meticulously plan every aspect, I can assure you that you’re going to want more than just a few photos of you saying your vows.
Consider the little details that make your elopement uniquely yours – the quiet moments of anticipation getting ready, the cake cutting & champagne toast you wanted to do or that sunset hike you're planning. These are the moments that define your day, and are ones you'll want to be documented with care and attention to detail, without you feeling rushed.
You're not just investing in photographs; you're investing in an experience that you'll remember for the rest of your life which captures the essence of your love and the unique magic of your elopement day. Let me be the one to preserve these precious memories, ensuring that they're cherished for generations to come.
WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO DURING AN ALL-DAY ELOPEMENT?
An all-day (or two-day) elopement may sound like a lot at first, but think about the most memorable adventures in life—they often span days or even weeks.
If you could imagine the perfect day together, from sunrise to sunset, what would it look like? Where would you want to watch the sunrise within the park's stunning landscapes? What adventures would you embark on, perhaps watching the sunrise over the iconic view of Half Dome from Glacier Point, exploring the Yosemite Valley or hiking to Vernal Falls and feeling it's refreshing spray as you share an exhilarating moment together?
What experiences would bring you the most joy and celebration, whether it's sharing vows at a secluded spot or enjoying a romantic picnic in the meadow beneath El Capitan? As you begin to envision these moments, you can easily dream up a memorable full day or more of activities and destinations to explore from sunrise to sunset, crafting an experience that's authentic and true to you, leaving an indelible impression on your hearts.
That's why I encourage planning an elopement that spans at least a full day, with every moment documented to tell the complete story of your wedding, capturing not just the ceremony but the entire spectrum of feelings and moments shared between you from the early morning preparations to that afternoon hike to catch your first sunset as a married couple.
What if we feel uncomfortable in front of the camera?
Being in front of the camera always feel a bit uncomfortable at first, but don’t worry—it's completely normal, I feel the same way! My goal is to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, so you can feel comfortable and be yourselves.
I'll guide you with natural prompts and candid moments rather than stiff poses, allowing your genuine connection to shine through. By the end of our time together, you might even forget the camera is there, resulting in authentic, beautiful photos that capture the essence of your relationship.
What if there's bad weather?
If there's rain, snow, or fog, we can embrace the unique beauty these elements bring to your photos, often creating a magical and dramatic atmosphere.
However, if the weather is severe and poses safety concerns, we can be flexible with our schedule and adjust the timing or location of your elopement.
In addition to embracing the unique beauty that bad weather can bring to your photos, I always come prepared with backup locations in case of inclement weather.
Furthermore, to provide extra peace of mind, I reserve both the day before and after your elopement date. This allows us flexibility to adjust our plans if needed, ensuring that your special day unfolds smoothly regardless of the weather conditions.
Rest assured, we'll work together to ensure your day is as perfect and stress-free as possible, no matter what the weather brings.
What if we're not experienced hikers or adventurers?
No worries! I curate locations that match your comfort level. Whether you're avid adventurers or seeking a more relaxed setting, I tailor the experience to suit you. There are plenty of stunning spots that are easy to reach, so don’t worry about missing out on good photo spots if going on a big hike is not your thing.
What if we want something more extreme for our elopement?
Thrilled by the idea! I specialize in capturing adventurous elopements. Your elopement can be as extreme as your imagination allows. Whether it's an overnight hike, exploring a remote wilderness, or any unique idea you have in mind, let's discuss your vision, and we'll make it a reality.
Are the travel expenses included in your packages or covered additionally?
Yes, all travel expenses are included in the packages and there are no hidden fees!
Can you help with location permits and logistics?
Absolutely. I guide you through the permit process and handle logistics to ensure a seamless adventure elopement experience.
DO WE HIKE IN OUR WEDDING ATTIRE?
Whether or not you hike in your wedding attire is entirely up to you and what feels most comfortable and enjoyable for your elopement experience. Some couples love the idea of hiking in their wedding clothes for the unique and adventurous photos it provides. Others prefer to change into their attire once they've reached their ceremony location to keep everything pristine. Whatever you choose, we'll make sure it fits seamlessly into your elopement adventure.
Do we need a wedding officiant for our elopement and what if we legally don’t get married on our elopement day?
In California you have the option for self-solemnizing your elopement. This means that you and your partner can officiate your own ceremony without the need for an external officiant.
Some couples like to have a friend or family member get ordained to officiate their marriage.
I can also recommend experienced officiants who specialize in intimate ceremonies, ensuring your vows are officiated with the same care as the rest of your celebration.
That said, many couples who choose to elope prefer to avoid dealing with paperwork on their elopement day. Instead, they craft their ceremonies exactly as they envision, often without an officiant or witnesses, and save the legalities for another time.
Your elopement day – the day you exchange vows, commit your lives to each other, have an adventure and become partners forever – doesn't necessarily have to include the legal formalities of getting married. My personal belief, is your wedding day is the day you say your vows to your partner, not necessarily the day you sign your marriage license.
If you both want to elope in Yosemite but don’t want to bring an officiant, and would rather deal with the paperwork on another day – I fully support going that route!
How long does it take to recieve the photos after the elopement and how will those be delivered?
I understand the excitement of reliving those moments! You'll get sneak peeks in 48 hours, with a few highlights from the day. A full gallery will follow 4-6 weeks after to ensure the highest quality.
Your photos will be accessible through a private digital gallery link. From there, you can download the high-resolution images, order prints and easily share your photos with friends and family.
DO YOU KEEP A BACKUP OF ALL OF OUR PHOTOS?
I do! I have every wedding or other session that I have ever shot backed up in multiple locations. This insures that if you ever lose your copy I can get a new one out to you right away. That said, I also encourage you to do the same and backup your photos in multiple locations.
How many photos do you return?
Typically, I deliver an average of 50-75 carefully curated images per hour of shooting.
This number varies slightly as I meticulously edit and deliver all the best photos, ensuring that each one meets my high standards of quality. You can expect to receive a collection of images that are free from duplicates, blurriness, or any other elements that may detract from their beauty or significance.
What equipment do you use?
I shoot on Canon cameras and have a set of lenses for every situation.
My full list of gear:
2x Canon R5
24mm 1.4L
35mm F1.8
85mm F1.4
